BALINESE PARASOL – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

View all
Are Baliaric parasols authentic Balinese parasols?

Yes. Our Classic Collection parasols are handcrafted in Bali by skilled artisans using traditional techniques preserved for generations. Each parasol is assembled by hand using natural bamboo structures, decorative fringes and hand-painted details.

Unlike many mass-produced “Balinese-style” parasols available online, our Classic Collection parasols are individually assembled and carefully hand-painted by artisans.

Are the designs painted by hand or printed?

The parasols in our Classic Collection are hand-painted by artisans in Bali.

We also offer a printed collection where the motifs are applied using a specialised printing process and the fabric is waterproof. These models are designed for situations where additional weather resistance is required.

Can the parasols get wet?

Our printed collection parasols are made with waterproof fabric.

The hand-painted parasols from our Classic Collection can tolerate occasional light rain, but they are not designed for constant exposure to water. We recommend treating them in a similar way to outdoor cushions.

To help protect the fabric and painted details, we recommend applying a fabric protector such as Scotchgard once a year.

Will the colours fade in the sun?

Like all outdoor textiles, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight will gradually soften colours over time.

This is a natural process for outdoor fabrics. Applying a protective spray such as Scotchgard can help protect the fabric and preserve the painted details.

Can Balinese parasols stay outside in the wind?

Wind is the main enemy of decorative parasols.

We recommend closing the parasol during strong winds, storms or overnight when weather conditions are uncertain.

If you prefer to leave it outdoors, you can use one of our waterproof parasol covers, which protect the parasol and allow it to remain outside for extended periods.

Why are some parasols available as pre-order?

Our parasols are handcrafted in Bali in limited quantities. Unlike mass-produced products, they are made by artisans using traditional techniques, which means production is naturally limited.

Because of this, some models may occasionally appear as pre-order when demand exceeds the pieces currently available in stock.

These parasols travel a long distance before reaching our warehouse, often crossing half the world. While this makes precise arrival dates difficult to predict, it also ensures that every parasol remains a genuine handcrafted piece rather than a mass-produced item.

We always keep our customers informed and provide updates as soon as shipments arrive.

How long does it take to process an order?

Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days.

Once dispatched, you will receive a tracking number so you can follow your shipment.

How are the parasols shipped?

All parasols are carefully packaged and protected to ensure they arrive safely.

We ship using FedEx, one of the most reliable international carriers.

Is there anything I should know when unpacking the parasol?

Your parasol will arrive securely packaged to protect the delicate handcrafted elements.

We recommend opening the box carefully and removing the parasol gently to avoid damaging decorative elements such as fringes or hand-painted details.
