Can you tell me more about the artisans who produce your products ?

At Baliaric, we take great pride in working with a very special group of people - a family of skilled artisans who have been crafting parasols for generations. This family has been producing some of the most beautiful and intricate handmade pieces, and their craftsmanship is truly awe-inspiring.

We have developed a very close relationship with this family over the years, and we have personally visited them in their hometown. The whole family is involved in the production process, and it's heartwarming to see how they work together to create these amazing pieces.

We feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated family, and we are committed to ensuring that they continue to thrive and create beautiful pieces for generations to come.

By supporting our business, you are not only getting a unique product, but you are also supporting a wonderful family and their rich cultural heritage.

Why is the stock for your parasols so limited?

Each one is a work of art that is carefully crafted by skilled artisans using traditional methods passed down through generations. From selecting the finest bamboo to hand-painting each intricate design, there are over 20 stages involved in the creation of each parasol.

It's important to note that there are many cheap imitations out there that are produced in large factories and lack the handmade quality and intricate details of our parasols. Our parasols, on the other hand, are painted by hand with great care and attention to detail.

And because our parasols are made in Bali, we have to transport them all the way to Toronto to share their beauty with you, it is a very long journey. That's why we have limited stock - we want to make sure that each and every parasol we offer is of the highest quality and truly special.

Are they waterproof?

Our parasols are hand-painted, and the paint may be affected by prolonged exposure to water. While the parasols are designed to withstand some light rain, we recommend avoiding exposure to rain or other extreme weather conditions to ensure the longevity of the paint and the parasol itself.

Our parasols should be treated like outdoor cushions - while they can withstand some exposure to the elements, they are not completely weatherproof and should be protected.

Our umbrellas are not only designed to provide shade, but also to add a touch of elegance and beauty to any outdoor space. With their vibrant colors and intricate designs, they are sure to be the center of attention and enhance the overall aesthetic of your patio, garden, or any other outdoor area.

Are there any special instructions for opening and closing the parasol?

When you first get your hands on one of our beautiful bamboo parasols, you might find it a little stiff and resistant. But don't worry, that's just because of the fresh bamboo and the taut fabric - it's all part of the magic! We promise that it will loosen up and become easier to handle over time, with a little bit of love and patience.

Here's a pro-tip for opening your parasol: start by gently opening the top half upside-down and pushing it down against the floor. You'll know you're on the right track when you see the peg hole in the pole - that's your cue to slide in the peg. Once you've secured the parasol, give it a little turn so it's right-side-up, and voila!

it's important not to push them beyond their limits to ensure they last for many sunny days to come!

Can I use the parasol in windy conditions?

Wind can be a parasol's worst enemy, and it's important to always use caution and avoid exposing the parasol to strong winds. In fact, it's worth noting that no type of parasol is truly windproof, including ours.

Our canopies are primarily designed for beauty and protection against sun, we always recommend using them in calm weather conditions.

We want you to enjoy your parasol for many years to come, so please always use it with care and avoid exposing it to strong winds."

We proudly support

Every month, we collaborate for a beach cleanup in south Bali. The collected waste is weighed and brought to the ZeroWaste Center for further separation.

The aim is to bring as less as possible to the landfill, and raise awareness about the value of waste and alternative ways of dealing with waste.

Baliaric Balinese Parasol is proud to partner with the ROLE Foundation in Bali, now for every parasol sold, 20 kilos of garbage will be removed from the Balinese beaches.
